Heat pump grants in Wales
Homes in Wales can use the same heat pump grant as England, including £7,500 and the oil and LPG category. Nest is an extra door for some low-income households, not a second version of the same grant.
Key takeaways
- Wales is inside the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
- Nest is separate and aimed at households that meet its own tests.
- The checker treats Wales like England for this grant.
The main grant
The values notice applies to England and Wales. A Welsh home on oil or LPG can be in the £9,000 category on the same dates as an English one. Gas, electric and coal follow the same rows. The eligibility checker includes Wales as a country that stays on this scheme.
The installer still has to be able to apply, and Ofgem still decides. Living in Wales does not add a local top-up in our data file. We will only add one if a council scheme is checked and written up with a source.
Nest
Nest is a Welsh Government scheme for home energy efficiency help, aimed at households on a low income or in particular circumstances. It can include heating measures for people who qualify. It is not something you add on top of a Boiler Upgrade Scheme quote by ticking a box here.
Read the current Nest rules on the Welsh Government Nest page or talk to Nest directly. We do not take Nest applications.
Quotes
A Welsh postcode can use the same quote guidance as England. The form still emails this site and does not send details to an installer.
If you are a tenant, the landlord question is the same in Wales as in England.
