Editorial policy
Edward Thomson reviews the checker and the guides against Ofgem and GOV.UK. Grant figures stay in one data file.
Key takeaways
- Edward Thomson is the named reviewer.
- Last checked dates move when the content changes.
- Grant figures are not retyped into each article.
Checking
The grant file was last checked on 19 October 2026. The routine is monthly against the Ofgem Boiler Upgrade Scheme page, plus an immediate check if a Budget or a values notice changes. We do not refresh the date for a typo that leaves the meaning alone, and we do refresh it when an amount or a date moves.
Anything that rests on one source is marked, as with the coal and oil split on the values notice. Pages about VAT, a mandatory EPC, and a full new-build appendix stay short until those rows are cleared.
Standard
Plain English. No implication that a grant is guaranteed. No installer named as “approved by us”. Corrections are public on the corrections page when a published figure was wrong.
Commercial relationships, when they exist, will be on the disclosure page before a lead is sent.
