About this site
Three questions: can you get the grant, what might you pay, and who can quote. No login for the tools.
Key takeaways
- Independent. Not affiliated with GOV.UK, Ofgem, MCS or any installer.
- Amounts live in one data file.
- We do not pretend to be the scheme.
Who it is for
Homeowners in England and Wales, especially people on oil, LPG or coal who are trying to understand the grant before they invite an installer in. Gas and electric homes, landlords, and flat owners are included. Scottish visitors are sent to Home Energy Scotland.
The tools run in the browser. You do not create an account to see a grant category.
What it is not
It is not GOV.UK, Ofgem, the certification body, or an installer. The header says that because the subject is easy to confuse with the scheme itself. We do not use government styling, and we do not use a certification logo.
It is not a lender. Credit referrals are out of scope.
How the site is organised
The homepage is the eligibility checker. Guides hang off it: the scheme, who can get it, oil and LPG, cost, quotes, and the nations. County pages and window prices are not published.
The topics map is the index. Edward Thomson reviews the checker and the guides. The editorial policy is how we correct ourselves.
